iThink Hackathon to Ignite Innovation Among Filipino Developers

In a bid to inspire creativity and collaboration among developers nationwide, ICP HUB Philippines (ISLA Camp) is set to host the iThink Hackathon: Pump up the Jam. This hybrid event, which aims to foster innovation, will provide a platform for participants to showcase their skills in two distinct tracks: Web Application and Web Game Application.

Utilizing backend APIs deployed on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), the hackathon will encourage the integration of cutting-edge technology into their solutions.

Spanning 30 days, participants will be tasked with developing web or game applications that address one of Rotary’s Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Community Economic Development, and Environment. Participants must select one area to concentrate on.

The Web Application track focuses on building innovative and functional web applications, while the Web Game Application track centers on developing engaging and interactive web games, both requiring the use of ICP for backend services and API integration.

Participants will have access to comprehensive ICP documentation and tutorials, a dedicated Telegram channel for support and communication, and guidance from experienced mentors and developers. Projects will be judged based on innovation, functionality, design and user experience, technical implementation, and presentation.

The iThink Hackathon will take place from June 26 to July 31, featuring a mix of online and in-person activities. The schedule includes the Registration Phase from June 26 to July 13, the Kickoff Phase from July 6 to July 10, the Development Phase from July 11 to July 25, and the Submission and Judging from July 26 to July 31.

This event represents a unique opportunity for developers to challenge themselves, acquire new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. By leveraging the power of the Internet Computer Protocol, participants will push the boundaries of web and game application development while addressing real-world issues.

To be part of this exciting journey, interested developers are encouraged to register now and embark on a path of innovation and impact. For more information about the iThink Hackathon and to register, visit https://hackathon.islacamp.ph
