The social development arm of the Jollibee Group has mentioned that participating planters in their Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP) delivered over 680,000 kilograms or 680 metric tons of white onions to the local fast-food chain back in 2022.

Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF)  stated that FEP farmers supplied green bell pepper, tomatoes, ginger, and calamansi used for Mang Inasal, Chowking, Greenwich, and Jollibee products in the country.

JGF mentioned that over 18 FEP farmer groups nationwide have become accredited suppliers of the Jollibee Group, which covers over 9,000 tons or 9 million kilos worth of vegetables estimated to be worth more than ₱360 million delivered since the year 2008.

“JGF is looking at ways to further expand FEP and provide more value-adding support to our partner-farmers,” mentioned Gisela Tiongson, the Executive Director of the foundation.

“We continuously work with Jollibee Group Business Units such as Purchasing, Research and Development, and Supply Chain to discuss more options for farming communities on how to maximize their profits. We’ve also worked with the Department of Agriculture (DA) to study soil samples and recommend practices to FEP farmers to make soil healthier and more viable for greater yield.” she adds.

According to a report from the World Bank, the Philippines has been making progress with poverty reduction in the Philippines.
