Lazada Daily Sales up 250% Amidst Pandemic

Lazada Philippines said its daily sales grew 2.5 times in 2020 because of the e-commerce boom, supported by the stay-at-home lifestyle brought from the pandemic.

Ray Alimurung, Lazada CEO, said the number of sellers and the use of cashless payments also doubled this year.

Alimurung added Lazada rolled out a ₱100 million “Bounce Back Together” stimulus program for small and medium enterprises to digitize during the pandemic.

Lazada launched “LazFresh” and “LazMed” during lockdown, for its users to access fresh and frozen groceries and health and wellness products.

Carlos Barrera, Lazada Chief Operating Officer, said “Lazada’s priorities have not changed. Our resolve and commitment to support brands and sellers with more resources to build a sustainable business and better serve our consumers has only gotten stronger,”
