LPG Prices Rolled Back on New Year’s Day

Consumers welcomed New Year’s Day with lower liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices as Solane and Petron announced rollbacks effective January 1.

In separate advisories:

  • Solane reduced its LPG price by ₱0.91 per kilogram, effective 6:00 a.m.
  • Petron implemented a ₱0.90 per kilogram price cut starting at 12:01 a.m.

The adjustments reflect the international contract price of LPG for January.

Additionally, Shell Pilipinas announced reductions in fuel prices, slashing ₱0.30 per liter for both diesel and gasoline, and ₱0.90 per liter for kerosene. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz have confirmed similar reductions, except for kerosene, which they do not offer.

The rollback comes amid the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) projection of an oversupplied oil market in 2025, despite OPEC+ holding production steady or delaying cuts.

Last week, fuel prices were increased, with per-liter hikes of ₱0.50 for gasoline, ₱1.45 for diesel, and ₱0.75 for kerosene.
