The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) Cavite Extension Project Phase 1 is edging closer to its anticipated commercial operations set for the fourth quarter of 2024. As of the end of April, the project is 98.2% complete, according to Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) General Manager Enrico Benipayo.

Inspection and Support: Transportation officials and executives, including Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, inspected the Dr. Santos Station. The delegation also included representatives from the Department of Finance, Public Works and Highways, Metro Manila Development Authority, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Acknowledgments: Benipayo expressed gratitude to Secretary Bautista, the DOTr, contractors Bouygues and Alstom, and the LRMC team for their commitment to the project.
Impact: The Phase 1 Extension Project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and serve up to 600,000 passengers daily, marking a crucial enhancement in Metro Manila’s public transportation infrastructure.
