Macau’s gambling revenue dropped 94.5% year-on-year in July following casinos massive drop in visitors, with loosening quarantine restrictions only seeing a small rise in the return of gamblers.

July’s revenue of $162.89 million USD followed analysts’ forecast of a fall at the 95% levels.

Macau reported only 2,000 visitors per day in July, as compared to the 108,000 daily average in 2019.

Casinos face heavy losses for the near-term, as China awaits to reinstate travel visas with a resurgence in coronavirus cases.
