Mang Tomas, Jufran, UFC Sauces Cleared by US FDA, Now Off Import Alert List

Popular Filipino sauces Mang Tomas, Jufran, and UFC have been officially removed from the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) import alert list, NutriAsia Inc. announced.

NutriAsia, the manufacturer behind these household names, received a letter from the US FDA on May 16, 2025, confirming that the reformulated products are no longer subject to detention without physical examination (DPWE). While the products are now cleared, they will still be subject to routine inspections, and the alert may be reinstated if future violations occur.

“We’re thrilled with the FDA’s approval. I’m sure our fellow Filipinos and American consumers who’ve missed these products will be delighted,” said NutriAsia president and COO Angie Flaminiano.

The products were initially flagged in October 2024 under Import Alert 99-45 due to the presence of an unsafe food additive. NutriAsia began shipping reformulated versions as early as August 2024 and has since complied with all inspection and documentation requirements.

“With this clearance, customers can expect a steady supply of our products once again,” added Mario Mendoza, head of NutriAsia’s New Business Development and International Business.
