In a strategic move to bolster the agricultural sector and enhance economic development, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced on Thursday that his administration is focused on transforming Northern Mindanao into the leading agricultural hub of the Philippines. During a ceremony in Iligan City, where presidential assistance was distributed to local farmers, fisherfolk, and families, President Marcos outlined the Northern Mindanao Regional Development Plan for 2023 to 2028. Furthermore, the local government of Iligan City was allocated PHP 10.5 million in presidential assistance, with Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental receiving PHP 13.9 million and PHP 24.3 million, respectively.
