President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., chair of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board, has approved Phase 1 of the Philippine Health System Resilience Project, valued at ₱27.9 billion. The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare systems across 17 vulnerable provinces, incorporating lessons from the pandemic to better prepare for future health crises.
President Marcos emphasized the program’s importance in ensuring reliable healthcare access nationwide, particularly in areas with limited resources. The project aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and will focus on health emergency preparedness, prevention, and response. It also includes components for project management, monitoring, and emergency response.
