Marcos: Port Projects in Bicol to Enhance Trade and Goods Delivery

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. emphasized the significance of ongoing port projects in the Bicol Region, aimed at accelerating the transportation of goods and boosting trade.

Key Initiatives:

• Port Developments: President Marcos highlighted efforts to expedite port projects in several areas, including Tabaco, Malinao, Tiwi, and Bacacay in Albay. These projects are designed to support the region’s continuous development by improving logistics and trade infrastructure.
• Expansion in Sorsogon: The implementation of the RoRo Terminal Port Expansion project in Sorsogon is progressing, enhancing the region’s capability to handle roll-on/roll-off cargo.

Broader Scope:

• Additional Projects: Port projects are also planned for the provinces of Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon. These initiatives aim to speed up the trade and transportation of essential goods, particularly food and agricultural products.

Agrarian Support:

• Land Distribution: During his visit to the Albay Astrodome in Legazpi City, Marcos distributed 2,115 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) and electronic titles (e-titles) to 1,965 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the Bicol region.
• Farm Equipment: A total of 617 farm machineries and equipment, valued at P20.66 million, were handed over to ARBs. Additionally, eight completed farm-to-market road (FMR) projects worth P193 million were turned over to various local government units in Camarines Sur.
• Future Projects: Nine more FMR projects, totaling P675 million, are in the pipeline, aimed at further improving the region’s agricultural infrastructure.

These developments underscore the administration’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure and agricultural productivity in the Bicol Region, ensuring faster trade and delivery of goods.
