President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. expressed satisfaction with the government’s economic performance over the past year, highlighting key achievements and ongoing initiatives during the 24th National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board Meeting held in Malacañang.
“I’m quite satisfied. I’m even proud. I would go as far as saying I’m proud of the things that we have achieved,” Marcos stated.
However, he emphasized the importance of effectively communicating these accomplishments to ordinary Filipinos in a way that resonates with their everyday lives.
Marcos acknowledged the government’s efforts in implementing structural reforms and infrastructure projects, many of which require years to complete. While some projects are already finished, he noted the need to explain the status of ongoing projects and their long-term benefits.
He specifically mentioned the Bataan-Cavite Bridge as a critical infrastructure project that could reduce traffic congestion in Metro Manila and boost connectivity in Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
Marcos also called for a consolidated report on government efforts to ensure food security, underscoring the importance of communicating how these initiatives will positively impact Filipino families in the long term.
In a presentation, NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan urged the government to avoid complacency and reaffirmed NEDA’s commitment to inclusive economic growth.

Balisacan outlined plans to diversify and develop new growth drivers, adopt new technologies, boost economic productivity, and foster collaborations with stakeholders to drive socio-economic transformation.
