Mega-vaccination Facility at Nayong Pilipino Begins Operations

After the completion of several buildings in Enrique Razon Jr.’s mega-vaccination facility located at Nayong Pilipino Foundation, it has finally begun operations on Tuesday, August 10.

At least 6,000 people per day will be able to receive vaccine doses from the site during its initial opening. “This will eventually be ramped up to 10,000 per day,” explained one official, but these figures will also be dependent on the number of jabs they will be able to procure.

Currently, the mega-vaccination facility is comprised of eight buildings and each one can accommodate up to 50 people at a time. These buildings are connected by covered walkways to help people move between them.

Aside from this, the site will also offer drive-through vaccinations. 10 lanes have been allotted for people who would rather get inoculated in their own vehicles.

This drive-through system was first implemented at the Solaire Vaccination Center, which was also from Razon’s International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) Foundation.

The ICTSI Foundation submitted an unsolicited proposal to the government for the construction of a temporary mega-vaccination earlier in March. Its primary goal was to vaccinate as many Filipinos to help the country reach herd immunity by the end of 2021.

“The new, temporary, and environmentally light vaccination facility has a design capacity to vaccinate as many as 10,000 to 12,000 people a day, roughly 300,000 a month,” explained the company in a previous statement.
