Megaworld Corp. is investing ₱15 billion in its first township project in Northern Luzon, marking the company’s 34th township development. The 84-hectare project, named “Ilocandia Coastown,” will be located next to Fort Ilocandia Hotel, featuring a 1.4-kilometer beach, residential areas, a shophouse district, a commercial center, and a town center. Inspired by Filipino and Spanish architectural heritage, the development will be within 15 minutes of Laoag International Airport and 30 minutes from Paoay Church.
According to Kevin Tan, CEO of Megaworld’s parent company Alliance Global Group, the project aims to tap into the Ilocos Region’s growing economy and tourism potential. Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, Megaworld’s president, highlighted that this project completes the company’s presence in the Philippines’ three fastest-growing regions.
Megaworld reported a net income of ₱9.81 billion in the first half of the year, with subsidiaries including Richmonde Hotel Group, Eastwood Cyber One, and Empire East Holdings.
