The former first lady of the U.S., Melania Trump, announced plans to release an NFT collection showcasing Pres. Trumps’ time in office. The announcement was released in a statement by the office of Melania.
The statement was posted on Melania’s Twitter account, it stated that the collection will be known as the “POTUS NFT Collection.” According to the announcement, the collection will feature ten pieces, with 500-1,750 copies available for each item. Additionally, the collection will be available on Feb 21, President’s Day.
When compiled together, the collection will offer about 10,000 NFTs, each priced at $50. These NFTs aim to highlight “iconic” moments from the former president’s administration, such as his 4th of July visit to Mt. Rushmore and Christmas at the White House. The statement gave credit to Melania for her “creative direction.”
Furthermore, the collection will use the Solana blockchain protocol, with social network Parlor, “powering the platform,” the statement said.
The announcement came just one day after Bloomberg published a report which cast doubt on the auction surrounding Melania’s debut NFT collection. Bloomberg noted that the winner of the last auction used a wallet owned by the entity that created the auction.
But the announcement came just one day after Bloomberg published a report casting doubt on the auction around her debut NFT collection, noting that the winner of the auction used a digital wallet owned by the entity that created the auction—in other words, that Trump’s NFT team may have bought the items themselves.
Melania launched her debut NFTs under the “Melania Trump NFT” collection last December. As NFT’s popularity surged last year, Trump’s first auction became the subject of media reports after failing to attract bidders.
