Meralco implemented its no-disconnection policy for its customers who reside in the areas covered by the NCR Plus bubble (Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal).
Ferdinand O. Geluz, Meralco’s first vice president and chief commercial officer, said that the power distribution company will “put on hold all disconnection activities until April 15, 2021.”
“We hope this measure will contribute to easing the burden of our customers and provide enough relief and time for them to settle their bills,” Geluz added.
This was after the government imposed another Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from March 29 to April 4 on the aforementioned provinces due to the surge in Covid cases.
The localized lockdowns have since been extended until April 11, 2021.
Geluz also stated that Meralco will be “very considerate during these trying times and vowed to assist its customers in need of help in their electricity concerns.”
Meralco’s business centers will operate with a skeletal workforce to continue to serve its customers for payments, applications, and assistance.
