NAIA Terminal 3 Returns to ‘Comfortable’ Temperatures After Air Conditioning Repairs

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 has returned to “comfortable” temperatures after completing repairs on its air conditioning system.

According to a report from Super Radyo DZBB’s Mao dela Cruz, the repairs on the malfunctioning chillers were finished by 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

MIAA spokesperson Chris Noel Bendijo stated that many areas within the terminal have reached the ideal temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, while other sections are at 24 degrees Celsius, which is still considered “comfortable.”

To maintain these temperatures, the cooling system is continuously monitored and is not being overworked to prevent overheating of the chillers. Temperature checks are conducted every three hours at Terminal 3.

The terminal’s engineering team expects the temperature to continue to decrease over the next few hours, as all chillers are now functioning normally.

Previously, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) had temporarily shut down the chillers to identify the cause of overheating issues with Chillers 1, 2, and 4. Last month, the air conditioning system at Terminal 3 was also shut down for 12 hours, causing discomfort for passengers and visitors who endured “Saudi-like” heat conditions.
