Stan Lee’s media production company, P.O.W.! Entertainment, has partnered with BeyondLife.club, Graphic India, and Orange Comet to introduce the Chakraverse NFT collection last December 13th.
The NFT features Marvel superhero “Chakra The Invincible” created by Sharad Devarajan and the late Stan Lee and will be auctioned between December 27-29 in commemoration of Lee’s 99th birthday. The auction will offer collectors an exclusive series of 7,000 unique Chakraverse art pieces. Lee has previously expressed his fascination with Indian culture stating that:
“The Invincible is the first superhero I’m developing for the Indian market. It is very intellectual and replete with tradition and morals. My purpose with Chakra is straightforward: I want to introduce an Eastern notion like Chakras to the globe via the Western genre of superheroes.”
Keyur Patel, co-founder and chairman of BeyondLife.club, has said that “We are happy to be a part of this cooperation to launch a unique worldwide NFT drop based on the characters co-created by the famous Stan Lee.”
Chakra’s co-creator Sharad Devarajan is optimistic for his character’s NFTs as it will give comic-book/Marvel fans a new piece of art to collect. He also hopes that the token will help build a community for NFT owners.
“The opportunity to now offer digital NFT ownership of the graphic novel and allow Stan’s many fans to share in [the] ownership of this new Chakraverse collection of art, will hopefully build a new community of NFT owners across the world,” said Devarajan.
Known as one of the godfathers of comics, Stan Lee is a famed writer and co-creator of some of the most iconic pop culture characters. These characters include Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and The Avengers. Sadly, due to congestive heart failure, Lee passed away last November 2018 at the age of 95. However, even if he is no longer with us Stan Lee’s memory will always remain as he will live on through his beloved artworks and characters.
