Nissan’s iconic Skyline, a name synonymous with automotive power and performance since its inception in 1969, is set to be reborn as an electric fastback and SUV. The Skyline, which gained fame as the formidable “Godzilla” in the 90s, is evolving with the times. An electric version of the R32 Skyline GT-R was teased earlier in March as a conversion project. However, recent reports indicate that the Skyline will be reimagined as an electric SUV based on the Nissan Ariya, expected to debut in 2025. This new electric SUV is projected to boast over 450 horsepower and may be sold in the U.S. under the Infiniti brand. Additionally, the Skyline will also be available as a 4-door electric fastback, featuring dual motors and a 443-horsepower 4-wheel independently controlled drive. The design is anticipated to follow cues from Infiniti’s Qe electric sedan concept, which has been compared in size to the Tesla Model S.
