MANILA – The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has clarified that there is no current travel advisory from the US government against the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), debunking circulating online posts that reused outdated information.
In a statement released Sunday, NNIC confirmed with the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that the advisory being shared was originally issued in December 2018 and was rescinded in August 2019. The post resurfaced after an airline accidentally reposted the old image, which has since been removed.
NNIC also noted that TSA conducts biannual security assessments of NAIA, with the most recent in February 2025 showing major improvements and no new findings—the first clean report since 2019.
NNIC, a consortium led by San Miguel Holdings Corp., officially took over operations of NAIA in September 2024 following a ₱170.6-billion concession deal signed in March 2024 with the Department of Transportation.
