Ozzy Osbourne’s CryptoBatz Set to Launch in January

Former lead singer of Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne recently announced his plans to enter the NFT scene, becoming the latest musician to venture into the industry. “I’m launching a f–king NFT project. 9,666 unique bats designed by yours truly,” he posted earlier this week. The NFT collection, called CryptoBatz, is a tribute to their infamous concert in 1982 where he bit a bat’s head off.

“I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, so I decided to create my own,” explained Osbourne. “CryptoBatz is a f–king mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic on-stage moments and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!”

This project was created in collaboration with NFT studio Sutter Systems and is set to launch in January. Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cryptotoadz, SupDucks, and another entity that is still unknown are said to be involved in the collection as well. Osbourne has already teased the design of two bats where one is a black bat with his iconic circular tinted sunglasses and the other is a hot pink bat smiling without teeth.

CryptoBatz will also have a unique feature where users will be able to bite and mutate another NFT in their possession. This will combine the attributes of both NFTs resulting in what will be known as “MutantBatz.” Holders of CryptoBatz will also get a chance to participate in “AncientBatz,” a global treasure hunt for special bats that have the ability to bite NFTs up to 100 times.

A presale of the NFT collection is already up and running on the project’s official Discord server, where the distribution of 2,500 guaranteed presale passes will also be available.
