PH E-Transfers Top ₱7.15T in Jan–Apr 2025 as Digital Payments Gain Momentum

Digital transactions in the Philippines continue to climb, with electronic fund transfers via PESONet and InstaPay hitting a total of ₱7.15 trillion from January to April 2025, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

This marks a substantial jump from ₱5.22 trillion recorded during the same period last year.

The majority of the transaction value came from PESONet, which processed ₱4.014 trillion—up from ₱3.122 trillion in the same timeframe in 2024. InstaPay followed with ₱3.13 trillion, rising from ₱2.101 trillion year-on-year.

In April 2025 alone, PESONet handled ₱1.011 trillion in transfers, while InstaPay reached ₱841.11 billion—both reflecting significant growth over April 2024 figures.

PESONet, launched in 2017, functions as a batch electronic fund transfer (EFT) system and serves as a digital alternative to check payments. InstaPay, introduced in 2018, supports real-time low-value payments up to ₱50,000, catering especially to everyday consumer purchases and MSME transactions.
