PH to join China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) 2021

The Philippines will join the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) 2021 from September 8 to 11 in Xiamen, China.
“For the second year in a row, the Philippines is once again given the distinct recognition as CIFIT’s Guest Country of Honour in 2021 to showcase the best of our country as a leading investment destination. This recognition is not surprising given that the Philippines and China share a long and rich history steeped in both culture and trade,” said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez.
The Board of Investments (BOI) said that the country will bring its “Make It Happen in the Philippines” campaign to the international fair to attract investments in manufacturing, hyper-scalers, digital technologies, agribusiness, real estate development, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
“More than offering a one-stop-shopping service for multilateral investment cooperation, CIFIT will help you to select from the widest range of investment projects and business partners from around the world,” Lopez added.
In last year’s CIFIT, the Philippines featured 64 projects worth ₱53.4 billion.
One of the country’s deals during the promotion was a $77-million real estate project called The Asia Plaza in the Manila Bay Area.
Construction for the mixed-use project started last June and is estimated to have created at least 200 jobs.
