PHINMA Takes Over Southeastern Colleges for ₱690M

MANILA, Philippines — PHINMA Education Holdings, Inc. (PEHI) has officially expanded its footprint in the Philippine education sector with the acquisition of Southeastern Colleges in Pasay City. The deal, valued at approximately ₱690 million, marks another strategic move by the PHINMA Group to provide accessible, quality education to students in high-density urban areas.

The acquisition allows PHINMA to integrate Southeastern Colleges—a long-standing institution known for its basic education and tertiary programs—into its growing network of schools across the country. The transition is expected to introduce PHINMA’s signature active learning systems and industry-aligned curricula to the Pasay-based campus, enhancing the employability and skills of its student body.

“This acquisition is a significant milestone in our mission to make lives better through education,” a PHINMA Education representative stated. “Southeastern Colleges has a rich history, and we look forward to building on that legacy by investing in campus facilities, faculty development, and student support services. Our goal is to ensure that students in the Pasay and South Manila areas have access to the same quality education that our other campuses provide.”

With this latest addition, PHINMA Education now manages a diverse portfolio of institutions across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The group has become a major player in the “affordable private education” segment, focusing on underserved markets and providing scholarship programs that help bridge the gap for low-income families.

Industry analysts observe that the ₱690 million investment reflects the private sector’s confidence in the recovery of the education industry following the challenges of the pandemic. As the demand for physical campus presence and hybrid learning models continues to grow, established networks like PHINMA are well-positioned to scale their operations.

The management transition is expected to be seamless, with current students continuing their programs under the new administration. PHINMA has expressed its intent to retain existing faculty and staff while introducing new training modules to align with the group’s global standards.

As the Philippine education landscape evolves, the entry of the PHINMA Group into the Pasay City corridor is seen as a positive development for local competition and educational standards in the National Capital Region.
