Repower Energy Development Corp. (REDC), led by businessman Dexter Tiu, is set to bolster the renewable energy landscape in the Philippines with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) approval of three service contracts for wind power projects in Quezon province. These contracts, lasting 25 years, pave the way for the establishment of wind farms in Real and Mauban towns, promising a combined capacity of 500 megawatts (MW).
The initiative marks a significant expansion in Repower’s clean energy portfolio, complementing its existing run-of-river hydropower operations. Construction is slated to commence later this year, with plans to transport the wind turbines by sea. The projects include the 200-MW Real Offshore Wind Farm, the 100-MW Silang Onshore Wind Farm, and the 100-MW Mauban Offshore Wind Farm, signifying a major step in the company’s multiyear growth trajectory.
This development not only reflects Repower’s commitment to enhancing its renewable energy capabilities but also contributes to the national grid’s sustainability, reinforcing the Philippines’ transition to green energy.
