Russia Secures Access to Philippine Beef Market with Two Firms Authorized for Imports

Russia has officially gained access to the Philippine beef market, with two Russian companies now authorized to export beef and beef offal to the country, according to Russia’s agriculture watchdog.

The development marks a strategic step in Russia’s push to expand its agricultural exports and diversify markets. Russia aims to increase its agricultural export volume by 50% by 2030, and currently ships beef to countries including China, Belarus, and Saudi Arabia.

“This new market is a valuable opportunity for Russian producers to diversify and adapt to shifting global demand,” said Sergei Yushin, head of Russia’s National Meat Association.

The Philippines imported 1.17 million metric tons of meat in 2024, reflecting a 10% rise from the previous year. Brazil, the United States, and Spain have traditionally been the country’s top meat suppliers.

Russia’s entry into the Philippine market underscores growing trade ties and could signal more food exports in the near future.
