San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced that it will be spending close to ₱1 billion in order to vaccinate all of its 70,000 employees for free.
In a statement, SMC said that it has secured Covid-19 vaccines from various sources, and is currently “laying the groundwork” for its vaccine strategy in partnership with relevant government agencies.
Ramon Ang, SMC president, said “It is our civic duty and our best chance at protecting ourselves and those we love. It is the best thing we can do today to help contain this pandemic, protect the vulnerable, and help speed up economic recovery,”
Ang added that the vaccines will be administered on a voluntary basis, but hopes that all employees will receive the vaccines.
