San Miguel to Award Contract for New Boracay Airport Terminal This Year

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced plans to build a new passenger terminal at Boracay’s Godofredo Ramos Airport (Caticlan Airport) with a capacity of 7 million passengers. SMC President and CEO Ramon Ang said the contract for the new terminal will be awarded this year, with construction expected to be completed in less than three years.

The current terminal is temporary, and the new facility will feature eight passenger boarding bridges to improve comfort and convenience for travelers. SMC oversees the ongoing development of Boracay Airport, including runway extensions to accommodate larger aircraft.

In addition to Boracay Airport, SMC is managing the development of Bulacan International Airport and will soon take over operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on September 14, 2024. Ang indicated that SMC will focus on these three airports for now to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
