Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s largest energy companies, is making a strategic investment in the Philippines by acquiring a 25% stake in Unioil Petroleum Philippines.
In a statement, Unioil confirmed the deal but did not disclose the transaction amount, stating it remains subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
Unioil CEO Janice Co Roxas-Chua called the partnership a milestone in the company’s 58-year history, emphasizing its role in accelerating growth and innovation in the local fuel sector.
Aramco executive VP Yasser Mufti said the investment aligns with the company’s global expansion strategy, adding:
“We look forward to introducing Aramco’s high-quality products and services to customers in the Philippines.”
The move strengthens Aramco’s presence in Southeast Asia while reinforcing Unioil’s market position in wholesale and retail fuel solutions.
