Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry, has officially broken the all-time NBA 3-point record by hitting over 2973 3’s over his pro career. To celebrate the achievement, he has launched an NFT collection consisting of every 3-pointer he has ever shot in the NBA. 27973 tokens will be priced at $499 as while the record-breaking 2974 NFT will be sold to the highest bidder. Following the launch, Curry plans to donate all profits to a charity foundation.
The collection was released on 2974SC.com and is known as the “2974 Collection”.
“I’m truly grateful to be able to share this moment with all of the fans, the entire Bay Area community, and everyone who has supported me throughout the years,” said Curry.
To develop these tokens, Curry partnered with artist and recent college graduate, Andrea McDonald. While a veteran in the NBA, Steph is also familiar with the cryptocurrency space as he became a global ambassador and shareholder for the digital asset space FTX.
The NBA star also joined the NFT craze after purchasing Bored Ape digital art last August for 55 ETJ (~$180,000 at the time). His Ape features some of the collection’s rarest characteristics including, zombie eyes, blue fur, and a tweed suit.
