STI Profit Surges 18% to ₱1.08 Billion Despite Enrollment Dip

MANILA, PhilippinesSTI Education Systems Holdings Inc. reported a strong financial performance for the first half of its fiscal year (July to December 2025), with net income growing by double digits.

According to a statement released on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the company—led by businessman Eusebio Tanco—saw its bottom line flourish:

  • Net Income: Rose by 18.4% to ₱1.08 billion, up from ₱912.2 million in the same period in 2024.
  • Gross Revenues: Increased by 8% to ₱2.83 billion, compared to ₱2.63 billion previously.

The profit jump occurred despite a slight decrease in the total number of students:

  • Total Enrollment: Reached 132,941 for School Year 2025-2026, a 4.5% decline from the previous year’s 139,155.
  • Reason for Decline: The company attributed the dip to public schools starting their junior and senior high classes earlier (June), which affected the private sector’s recruitment window.
  • Tertiary Growth: Despite the overall drop, enrollment in tertiary (college) programs actually grew to 102,407, showing sustained demand for higher education.
