In a study conducted by ManageEngine, it was reported that in Q3 of 2022, the importance of information technology (IT) units for businesses increased.
According to the study, the corporates’ target of upgrading their operations was further pushed with the pandemic and remote working or work-from-home set-up. This, along with the digitalization initiative of the government propelled the importance of these information technologies (IT) units.
In their survey titled “IT at work: 2022 and beyond”, ManageEngine regional director for Asia Pacific, Arun Kumar, mentioned that an estimated 93% of decision-makers noted increased collaboration between their IT teams and other departments in the past two years.
In the survey, over 100% of the IT decision makers (ITDMs) from the 150 firms which took part in the survey mentioned how organizations have been using advanced data analytics on their IT operations in the past year such as machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).
Kumar has noted that there is no fixed level of IT investment that companies would be required to follow since this would depend on different factors such as the maturity of the IT system, industry, size of the company, and prior investments in technology.
“I think it might look like the budgets are going to be high initially but that’s important because you invest today for the future,” Kumar mentioned.
The survey also shows that 59% of the ITDMs mentioned that they would be most likely to resign from their current jobs if the flexible work system would be revoked.
