Toyota Awards Luxury SUV to Olympic Champion Carlos Yulo

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has gifted Filipino Olympic champion Carlos Yulo a brand new Land Cruiser Prado in recognition of his historic achievement as the country’s first two-time Olympic gold medalist. The handover ceremony took place at Toyota’s manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, led by TMP President Masando Hashimoto and Vice Chairman Dr. David Go.

“Thank you, Caloy, for being an inspiration. Like the Prado, you are legendary in every way. We hope the Prado will Move Your World and help you achieve even more,” said Hashimoto during the event.

Yulo secured two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning in both the vault and men’s floor exercise. The Land Cruiser Prado is equipped with a powerful 2393cc turbo engine, offering a maximum output of 281 horsepower and 430Nm of torque.

In addition to the SUV from Toyota, Yulo has received several other rewards, including a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro SUV, P20 million in cash from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., a P32-million property from Megaworld Corp., and lifetime Mabuhay Miles from Philippine Airlines. Notably, these prizes and gifts are exempt from income tax, according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
