Last March 25, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the launch of an NFT museum commemorating the most memorable events of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
According to a report by CryptoPotato, this move seems to be the materialization of an idea first conceptualized by Alex Bornyakov.
Federov stated that the museum will serve as a place to remember “the Ukrainian identity and freedom,” following Russia’s attack on the country.
“While Russia uses tanks to destroy Ukraine, we rely on revolutionary blockchain tech. @Meta_History_UA NFT-Museum is launched. The place to keep the memory of war. And the place to celebrate the Ukrainian identity and freedom. Check here: https://t.co/IrNV0w54tg” posted Mykhailo Fedorov on Twitter.
Additionally, the museum will be collecting donations to aid the Ukrainian people in overcoming these difficult times.
The official website for the museum announced that 100% of the proceeds from NFT sales will go “directly to the official crypto-accounts of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine” to support both Ukrainian troops and civilians.”
“The formula of each NFT is clear and simple: each token is a real news piece from an official source and an illustration from artists, both Ukrainian and international […] We will never let any single day of this period disappear from the ledger of world history.”
Following Russia’s invasion, Ukraine has received over $65 million in crypto donations.
Aid for Ukraine posted on Twitter last March 19th stating:
“Thanks @FinancialTimes & @CristinaCriddle! “As the war has continued, the government has refined its approach. This week, it launched an official @_AidForUkraine website”#HelpUkraineWithCrypto at https://t.co/nEFnqSk4Pw https://t.co/hI0eHG81He pic.twitter.com/RsMuOuIEhn”
