UnionBank of the Philippines broke ground on Wednesday with the commencement of the construction of the UnionBank Innovation Campus in San Pedro, Laguna.
The campus, the first of its kind in the PH, is expected to be completed as early as the middle of next year and is envisioned as the hub for exploring new technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc. that will revolutionize Filipino life.
This development aims to bring a valuable talent pool that will fuel innovation initiatives under one roof and is envisioned to be the hub for not only highly talented individuals who will help the bank in creating more digital solutions but also “some of the best educators who will help mentees unlock their full potential as solutions thinkers.”
“We’re excited about the campus because it’s a dream come true for the entire organization and it’s also a testament to the commitment of management and the board of directors to innovation as a major strategic thrust. This is also consistent with the Aboitiz group’s focus on innovation as a pillar for growth moving forward,” said UnionBank president Edwin Bautista.
According to Bautista, the bank’s investment in the campus is likewise an affirmation that even during these difficult times, there are companies that still worth investing in.
