Vaccination Made Mandatory for On-site Disney Employees

In the United States, Walt Disney Co. has made vaccination mandatory for its on-site salaried and non-union hourly employees. The recent move comes as the Delta variant prompts a surge in COVID-19 cases.

“Employees who aren’t already vaccinated and are working on-site will have 60 days from today to complete their protocols and any employees still working from home will need to provide verification of vaccination prior to their return, with certain limited exceptions,” announced Disney.

Newly hired employees will also have to be fully vaccinated before they are able to begin their employment.

Other companies across the U.S., particularly those in the tech industry like Google, Uber Technologies Inc., and Facebook Inc., have likewise urged their employees over the past week to get vaccinated before returning to offices.

Safety guidelines like the wearing of masks in indoor public places have also been reimplemented by health authorities in regions with higher chances of transmission.
