West End Jollibee Sold Over 4,000 Pieces of Chickenjoy on Opening Day

On May 20, Jollibee welcomed customers through its doors in London West End. After its opening, the store reported having sold well over 4,000 pieces of Chickenjoy on the first day alone.

This greatly exceeded the opening day sales records of its other UK branches found in Leeds, Leicester City, and Liverpool. Londoners were seen lining up as early as 3 am, an entire 7 hours before the store’s official opening. By 9:30 am, at least 300 people were already in line.

“It is heartwarming to see the long lines of customers at Jollibee’s London West End opening. We are excited to welcome our British customers along with our Filipino guests to our latest restaurant, where they can enjoy our unique and popular food offerings,” expressed Jollibee Group CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong.

JFC already has more than 5,800 stores scattered across 33 countries. Given this recent success, Jollibee Food Corps. hope to launch 6 additional branches across the UK before the end of 2021. It has also set its eyes on opening at least 50 stores throughout Europe within the next 5 years in its attempt to become among the top 5 restaurant companies globally.

“We also look forward to continuously expanding our brand footprint in UK’s  £1.2 billion fried chicken market as we open more stores in the country and the rest of Europe,” added Tanmantiong.
