JC Vergara’s journey from a second-year college student to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to the power of determination and strategic planning. Vergara’s business began with selling meat in front of his house. Utilizing leftover liempo, he ventured into making lechon belly. The journey wasn’t smooth, as he encountered challenges and had his share of failures, burning and wasting several batches of pork before mastering the perfect taste and cooking technique.

His dedication was evident as he juggled online classes with his growing business, waking up at 1 a.m. for market runs, cooking, and deliveries. From a humble beginning with a single turbo oven, Vergara has expanded his operations to include five industrial ovens and a piggery, providing employment to 20 people.

Vergara’s secret to tender and flavorful kutsinilyo lies in using native pigs aged two to three months. His business thrives, especially during festive occasions like Christmas, where his earnings triple. Despite facing skepticism due to his young age, Vergara’s perseverance and focus on his goals have proven his doubters wrong.
